About

Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home and Rosewood Memorial Park have served families in the Tidewater region since 1954. The funeral home and cemetery are sister locations. Working together, they offer you the ability to make all funeral, cremation, burial and memorialization arrangements. Our trusted professionals are committed to helping everyone during their time of need and strive to serve you with respect, integrity and dignity.

Bright and airy funeral home

Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Rosewood Memorial ParkIn 1995, our funeral home was built on cemetery property to better serve Virginia Beach families. Unlike many traditional funeral home facilities, ours is light, airy and spacious. Our large chapel has pew-style seating that can accommodate approximately 250 guests. It has a beautiful stained-glass window and 2 flat-screen TVs for displaying tribute videos. We have 2 visitation rooms that were recently renovated with modern furniture and soft, neutral wall colors to create a comforting ambiance. These rooms can be used for catered receptions before or after the service as well.

Let's celebrate life

Chapel at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Rosewood Memorial ParkEvery person’s life has a unique story, and the team at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home can tell your loved one’s life story like no one else can. Whether you’re planning ahead or have an immediate need, our funeral home team will carefully listen to you and learn about your loved one’s passions and personality. Then the team will create a meaningful and impactful tribute that celebrates their life.

Whether you prefer a simple ceremony or an elaborate catered event, we can do it. Want to turn our chapel into a boxing ring? We’ve done that. We’ve parked motorcycles in our chapel and we’ve even replaced the artwork on our walls with a loved one’s paintings. For one funeral service, guests signed a white casket with magic markers. Your loved one's unique life and passions provide the inspiration for the celebration and we’ll take care of the details.

History

Rosewood Memorial Park was established in 1954 on land that was originally land used for farming. The 1st service was held in the Garden of Prophets in 1955. In later years, 2 other gardens were opened, the Garden of the Last Supper and the Garden of the Good Shepherd. Both of these gardens feature white Italian marble monuments that signify their names.

In 1995, Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home opened on the grounds of Rosewood Memorial Park. Neal Kellum, who established Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach, helped develop the new funeral home.

We have served the Virginia Beach community for more than 60 years. We have to give credit to our compassionate and professional teams—their dedicated service and personalized care is what keeps families coming back to us.

Rosewood Memorial Park cemetery

Cemetery grounds at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Rosewood Memorial ParkRosewood Memorial Park encompasses 55 acres of meticulously landscaped grounds adorned with magnificent Italian white marble monuments as well as crepe myrtle, cherry and magnolia trees. It is a quiet and picturesque setting in which to honor the memory of your loved one. It is considered 1 of the finest cemeteries in the Tidewater region.

Burial and cremation options

With 16 beautiful gardens, 8 mausoleums and a cremation garden, our cemetery property offers a wide range of burial options. Our newest gardens, Commonwealth Estates and Old Dominion Estates, are private family estates that feature upright memorials and benches.

Mausoleum at Rosewood Memorial ParkThe temperature-controlled Chapel of Serenity mausoleum not only has traditional crypt options, but also gorgeous glass-front niches that can be personalized with pictures, mementos and your loved one’s favorite things. Chapel of Serenity can be used for committal services during inclement weather.

Honoring veterans and public servants

The Tidewater Veterans Memorial Garden and the Garden of Valor honor military veterans and public servants. These gardens display monuments, flags and benches commemorating those who have served our country and city. In our Chapel of Serenity mausoleum building, the Court of Military Honor displays bronze plaques representing each branch of the armed forces. Within the Garden of Valor, a Public Servants Memorial honors firefighters and police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. Like our sister funeral home, we also are a Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans. When you choose the Rosewood team for the memorial services of your beloved veteran, you can be confident in our ability to guide you through every detail.

Room for growth and expansion

Cemetery grounds at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Rosewood Memorial ParkAt Rosewood Memorial Park, we plan to serve many more generations of Virginia Beach families. Out of our 55 acres of land, we still have 18 acres that are undeveloped, meaning we can develop more gardens, features and buildings when needed. We take great care of our memorial park and do everything we can to maintain its beautiful landscaping and peaceful atmosphere.

Caring for Virginia Beach

At Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home and Rosewood Memorial Park, we not only serve the Virginia Beach community, we support it. Our team members are members of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the Norfolk and Virginia Beach Task Force on Aging, the Norfolk Senior Olympics and the American Diabetes Association. To honor the many veterans and military families we serve, we host a Memorial Day cookout every year. And each December, we hold a candlelit Service of Remembrance for families who have lost loved ones in the past year.
